CALL FOR CANDIDATE FOR THE 2025 WHOA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

We are seeking candidates to fill five (5) open seats, beginning January 2025. If you are interested in helping to guide the future of our amazing community, we want to hear from you!

Each year during the Annual Member’s Meeting in January, WHOA Board members are elected by the residents to help improve and maintain the Windings of Ferson Creek community. The Board’s role is to manage the community’s facilities, environment, and finances with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.

Once elected, WHOA Board members also have legal duties – fiduciary responsibilities – to act in the best interests of the entire community. Some of these responsibilities include:

Duty of Loyalty

– Make decisions that benefit the Windings HOA as a whole, not for the gain of yourself or specific groups.

– Act fairly, avoid conflicts of interest, and protect private information.

– Understand that differences may arise, and work to resolve conflicts rather than create them.

Duty to Act

Familiarize yourself with the Windings of Ferson Creek Home Owners Association Declarations of Covenants and Restrictions, the Illinois Common Interest Community Association Act (CICAA), and Not-For-Profit laws, which guide how the WHOA operates.

– Help the Board follow all legal requirements.

Duty of Care

– Attend Board meetings regularly and stay informed about important topics to make educated decisions.

– Actively participate in discussions and carefully consider how decisions may impact the community and property values.

– Be mindful of how and why money is spent.

To be eligible, you must be a Unit Owner in good standing with the WHOA (e.g. no unpaid dues, etc.). If you are interested in running as a candidate, reach out to the Nominations Committee at [email protected]. We will respond with more information and next steps.

*** All Nominees are suggested to familiarize themselves with the Windings Declarations Covenants and Bylaws as well as Common Interest Community Association Act (CICCA).

Deadline to submit your nomination is Friday, October 18 @ 5pm CT
